Friday Jams (Columbia Roadtrip Edition)

Going up to Cola after work to marinate with Will this weekend. Pretty tired this morning after going out with Mel last night, but trying my best to stay awake with some good jams. Here's a genius mix: J. Rocc playing Common's The Light into the original sample (Bobby Caldwell's Open Your Eyes) and then putting the Common instrumental under the Bobby Caldwell vocal breakdown. What you get here is just a snippet of the genius found on J.Rocc's Sex Machine Today mixtape. For those not in the know, peep Common's The Light (J. Rocc Remix):

If you read my post yesterday, you might remember me mentioning a Stevie Wonder party break with cuts from A Tribe Called Quest tastefully placed. Anyway, here it is: Green Tea's The Wonderful Beats:

To fulfill the ill boom bap quota for the week, I present to you Main Source's Fakin the Funk Remix. Peep:

Finally, one of my favorite 7" record purchases in a long while; The Edge (Remix) by Mophono. Such an ill crunchy re-edit of the David Axelrod classic. Peep:
